Dougie Freedman confirmed in tonight's post match press conference that Bolton Wanderers have signed Max Clayton on a permanent transfer for a small fee.
The deal has been agreed and will be officially announced by the club tomorrow assuming he passes his club medical. Freedman said, at 10.30 pm after the victory over Rotherham, "Max Clayton should be announced tomorrow, it is pending on a medical." (Note - yesterday, this blog revealed (here) that the Max Clayton signing would be confirmed today. Freedman left it late but at least he squeezed it in. Cheers Dougie!)

A Bolton Wanderers fan known, online, as White84 spent £200 on a gigantic "Freedman Out" banner ready for tonight's game against Rotherham at the Macron Stadium. However, within minutes of he banner being unleashed, the stewards pounced and had it removed! (continues below) The enormous banner, measuring 30 feet by 4 feet, was draped over the upper tier seats of the East Stand, directly facing Dougie Freedman's dug out area shortly before kick off. Many fans will not have noticed the banner as it was removed about 5 minutes before the players emerged from the tunnel for the game and most supporters had not yet made their way to their seats.
You can easily chat to White84 online (click here) to find out if the banner was seen by the Bolton boss during the team warm up - you might also ask him how he smuggled it into the ground - it must have weighed as much as a small man. Ironically, Bolton went on to notch their first win of the season in what turned out to be one of the most scintillating games of football I have seen in a long while! (As a side note - I did see that the banners and Union Jack flags draped at the front of the South Stand by the travelling Rotherham supporters remained in place (untouched by stewardly hands) for the duration of the game.) Bolton Wanderers are chasing a few players right now but I have a sneaky bit of news which I don't think is out there just yet. The deal for long time target, striker, Max Clayton, is done! (According to my source the club will announce tomorrow)
Bolton Wanderers have agreed a deal with Crewe for the Max Clayton who is out of contract and Clayton is keen to join Bolton. The deal includes a large sell on fee which could benefit Crewe in the long run. The strikers' signature will be officially announced by the club on Tuesday. Swiss International striker, Innocent Emeghara, is also on Bolton Wanderer's radar but the whites could face a battle with Wolves to sign him. Greg Halford could arrive on loan from Nottingham Forest in the next week. Bolton had agreed a deal with Forest, in the summer, for the defenders signature before he picked up a knock in training. But now the loan window is in full swing the deal could be reignited as Forest want him to get some game time. Paddy Kenny also joins Bolton to bolster our goalkeeping options since Adam Bogdan's training ground injury which will see him out for 10 weeks or so. The 36 year old veteran keeper could be available for Tuesday's home game with Rotherham. Chat to me or hurl abuse at me on www.forum.boltonnuts.co.uk |
