A Bolton Wanderers fan known, online, as White84 spent £200 on a gigantic "Freedman Out" banner ready for tonight's game against Rotherham at the Macron Stadium. However, within minutes of he banner being unleashed, the stewards pounced and had it removed! (continues below) The enormous banner, measuring 30 feet by 4 feet, was draped over the upper tier seats of the East Stand, directly facing Dougie Freedman's dug out area shortly before kick off. Many fans will not have noticed the banner as it was removed about 5 minutes before the players emerged from the tunnel for the game and most supporters had not yet made their way to their seats.
You can easily chat to White84 online (click here) to find out if the banner was seen by the Bolton boss during the team warm up - you might also ask him how he smuggled it into the ground - it must have weighed as much as a small man. Ironically, Bolton went on to notch their first win of the season in what turned out to be one of the most scintillating games of football I have seen in a long while! (As a side note - I did see that the banners and Union Jack flags draped at the front of the South Stand by the travelling Rotherham supporters remained in place (untouched by stewardly hands) for the duration of the game.)

Nothing but a thick wanker, how's that helping the team he supposedly supports?

The side note didn't carry any weight in favour of the banner. As it happens I don't think a banner like that is a good idea. However the fans who want to voice an opinion maybe shouldn't be edited out by he club.
